Getting Started

PrivacyBridge is designed to make PII (Personally Identifiable Information) redaction simple and secure. Follow these steps to process your first document:

  • Upload: Click "Open File" or drag and drop a PDF, DOCX, or text file into the workspace.
  • Detection: The system automatically scans the document using local AI models to identify sensitive entities.
  • Review: Use the Privacy Inspector in the sidebar to toggle redactions or add manual blocks by selecting text in the editor.
  • Secure: Once satisfied, use the "Anonymized" view to see the final results.

Supported File Types

PrivacyBridge supports a wide range of professional document formats:

  • PDF Documents: Full retention of structure (processed via Docling).
  • Microsoft Office: Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), and PowerPoint (.pptx).
  • Text Files: Standard .txt and Markdown .md files.

Understanding NER detection

Our Named Entity Recognition (NER) is powered by a Transformer-based BERT model that runs entirely on your local machine. It understands context, allowing it to distinguish between a common word and a person's name with high accuracy.

Supported Entities include: Person names, Locations, Organizations, Emails, Phone numbers, Credit cards, IBANs, and more.

AI Integration (Claude)

PrivacyBridge features a built-in chat interface that allows you to summarize or analyze your documents using Claude. Crucially, only the redacted text is ever sent to the cloud. You can verify this at any time using the "Show Sent Data" toggle on any chat message.
